Maintenance/Caretaker

Stillpoint Lodge, located in beautiful Halibut Cove, Alaska, is looking for the right person (or couple) to take care of the property and support the summer season operation.  Stillpoint Lodge resides on 12 acres of land and includes over 20 buildings, extensive dock systems with numerous float houses, boats, vehicles. Golf carts, a bobcat, bulldozer, generators and more.  Experience with mechanical and boat repair is a huge plus!

The ideal individual is a well-seasoned, mature and organized maintenance person with a deep knowledge of, and experience working on, gas/diesel engines, outboard motors, operation of power tools, basic plumbing, and basic electrical maintenance.  This person is able to take direction, but also operate autonomously such that standard tasks are completed efficiently and on schedule.  He or she is team-oriented and can interact with lodge guests respectfully and professionally.

This individual works with the general manager, lodge director/owner, and other seasonal employees to successfully keep the lodge operational and in top condition. 

This individual is:

·      Responsible for the upkeep of all lodge facilities, special projects, and groundskeeping. 

·      Physically fit, professional, respectful

·      Able to lift and haul heavy materials (Lumber, luggage, provisions, etc.)

·      Disciplined

·      Capable of diagnosing and fixing things

·      Responsible for keeping the grounds and workshop/BOH areas tidy and organized

·      Responsible for maintenance schedules for SPL vehicles and equipment

·      Capable of jumping in on dirty/less glamorous jobs

Basic Skills must include but are not limited to:

·      Common Sense (Mandatory)

·      Basic carpentry

·      Basic plumbing

·      Basic electrical (AC and DC)

·      Landscaping

·      Diesel and small engine maintenance

·      Heavy Equipment operation

·      Power washing

·      Power Tool operation

·      Ability to figure out how to find the answer in a remote setting

Compensation (DOE):

·      Off Season (Nov – April)

Room and Board

Stipend

 

·      In Season (May – October)

Monthly Salary + Room and Board + Guest Tips + Seasonal Bonus
