    At our on-mountain restaurant, The Whistlestop, Quick Service Attendants are responsible for providing guests with prepared food items, beverages, and general knowledge of the mountain and resort operations. You will rotate between roles of a cashier (engaging with customers, taking accurate orders, collecting and processing payments) and busser (clearing and sanitizing tables), as well as light food preparation.

    Essential Job Responsibilities:

    • Operate a high-volume point-of-sale register.
    • Follow checklists and other guidelines for opening and closing duties.
    • Have a comprehensive understanding of and practice responsible alcohol service.
    • Greet all customers pleasantly and provide simple directions within and around the resort and mountain.
    • Provide recommendations and answer questions about food and drink items, including allergen and dietary information.
    • Daily set-up and breakdown of service area.
    • Conduct regular check-ins with guests to ensure food, beverage, and experience quality.
    • Demonstrate experience in handling complaints and resolving grievances to ensure guest satisfaction.
    • Develop a working knowledge of food and beverage operations.
    • Participate in supply procurement from the Resort Center, load into Snow Cat, and assist with delivery to the restaurant.
    • Communicate product and supply needs to the restaurant manager.
    • Arrange chairs and picnic tables on the restaurant snowfront, storm stacking when heavy snowfall is expected.
    • Participate in shoveling snow after heavy snowfall.
    • Miscellaneous tasks such as: assisting with unloading supplies, emptying trash & recycling cans, restocking food and beverage items, sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping floors, etc.
    • Maintain a clean and neat workspace, and guest space, and ensure that the operation runs in a smooth and orderly fashion.
    • Perform additional responsibilities, although not detailed, as requested by F&B Managers or Supervisors at any time.
    • Reliable attendance on all scheduled workdays.

    Bell/Valet

    Bell and Valet welcome all guests promptly with a positive, friendly, and helpful attitude to provide a great first impression.  Bell and Valet are responsible for unloading luggage and equipment from guest vehicles/shuttle, delivering or storing luggage, and storing all equipment (skis, bikes, etc.) as well as transporting guest vehicles safely to and from the appropriate parking areas, as assigned.  Bell and Valet escort guests with luggage to their rooms, pointing out hotel facilities and explaining features of the accommodations.  Bell and Valet will provide transportation for guests using a company vehicle, and will also valet guest vehicles, therefore a driver's license and impeccable driving record are required.  Bell and Valet perform room deliveries upon request and also respond to other guest requests and concerns. Must possess great guest service and problem-solving skills.  Upon departure, Bell and Valet collect luggage and escort guests to their vehicle, loading all equipment and luggage into the guest's vehicle.     •  Ski Valets are responsible for unloading ski/snowboard equipment from guest bell carts and storing all equipment (skis, boots, etc.), as well as any other items needed to go out on the mountain.

    Café attendants ensure guests have all the items needed to enjoy their meal and facilitate an efficient dining experience. Main tasks include completing food and drink orders at the point of sale, welcoming and educating guests, managing the waste management stations to our B-Corp specifications, cleaning the dining area, and restocking products. A friendly attitude and excellent communication skills are required for this position’s success, all while adhering to the pressures of a fast-paced environment.

    F&B Steward & Driver

    The essential duty of the Food & Beverage Steward & Driver is to assist in ensuring that The Bavarian Restaurant is prepared for daily operation, including operating a vehicle to transport staff to and from the base area to the restaurant. Snow removal and equipment setup & breakdown daily is the name of the game.

    Essential Job Responsibilities: 

    • Staff Shuttle
      • Responsible for ensuring that all team members have shuttle support or alternative transportation from the base area to the Bavarian Restaurant.
      • Provide a minimum of two timely morning pickups that coincide with TSV staff shuttle arrival times.
      • Attentive and professional group communication regarding coordination or delays resulting from weather or mechanical issues.
      • Provide a minimum of one evening shuttle to the resort base area in coordination with TSV staff shuttle departures.
      • Provide additional transportation support as requested by Supervisor.
      • Responsible for vehicle safety and maintenance, in coordination with TSV Vehicle Maintenance Department.
    • Daily snow removal and safety assurance
      • Work Areas – ensure all work surfaces are free of snow, including rear deck, staff entrances, stairs, ramps, and pathways to food and dry goods storage areas.
      • Guest Areas –ensures snow and ice removal from all tables and seating, front deck, and pathways to areas of guest service.
      • Maintenance of snow removal equipment (snowblowers, shovels, ice breakers).
      • Coordinates snow removal with Base Area Maintenance Team and Bavarian Team members to complete before opening to the public.
    • Daily mid-day tasks to assist with Bavarian and Phoenix operations
      • Light Kitchen Prep – assisting Bavarian chef with miscellaneous tasks.
      • Organizing and Stocking inventory at the Bavarian.
      • Daily indoor sweep of Phoenix dinning room – Remove trash, wipe down tables and surfaces, vacuum.
      • Bus and wipe down tables at the Bavarian.
      • Assist with runs to and from base of both staff and goods midday when needed.
    • Requires early and autonomous arrival, and ability to assess time needed to accomplish above tasks, dependent on anticipated and actual weather conditions. Examples – Vehicle warm-up and readiness by first shuttle or deck cleared of snow by 11AM restaurant opening.
    • Daily set-up and breakdown of deck and Bavarian beer garden equipment, including stacking of deck furniture in anticipation of snow.
    • Ancillary snow removal at the Phoenix deck, when requested.
    • Reliable attendance on all scheduled workdays, including early morning arrival on storm days.

    Lead Rental Technician

    The Ice Haus Lead Rental Technician will ensure Taos Ski Valley Inc.’s newest attraction is professionally operated, perfectly organized and fun for all.  With an automated skate tuning machine in-house Rental Technicians will have the best tools to maintain the rental skate inventory.  Operated by Resort Services, the Ice Haus Lead Rental Technician will train and work with staff from all Resort Services operations including Taos Sports, Kachina Sports, Confluence, Lost & Found and Seasonal Lockers. Qualified candidates may be provided advanced training for Ice Rink maintenance.

    A Taos Ski Valley veteran of 2 seasons or more, the Rental Lead will assist with training of and guidance for new staff.  Leading by example the Rental Lead will greet guests, maintain a welcoming environment, promote Taos Ski Valley, Inc. and answer guest questions. Well versed in Taos Sports rental and retail inventory, you will be able to direct guests to items that meet their needs. We strive for every guest interaction to have a personal touch and to make the guest feel more welcome. The Rental Lead is a dynamic, outgoing person that can spread the stoke of Taos Ski Valley, Inc through every guest interaction.

    Qualifications & Knowledge:

    • 1 years experience in a high-volume kitchen & or dishwashing preferred
    • Must have New Mexico Food Handler Certificate prior to or within 30 days of hire.
    • Ambition to grow into a higher position
    • Ability to communicate in a positive and productive manner while tasking
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and evenings.

     

    Work Environment:

    Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. TSVI is located in a high-altitude alpine environment.  Position may require travel on uneven, snow-packed, or icy terrain and may be exposed to wet, cold, and/or humid conditions. Wet surfaces exist and sharp objects are located throughout the work area.

     

    Physical Demands of Position Include:

    Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. 90-100% of the time will be spent standing, walking, reaching, talking, hearing, tasting, and smelling. 25-50% of the time may be spent climbing/balancing, being exposed to hot/humid conditions and the outdoors including winter weather conditions. Occasionally sitting – less than 15% of the time. 

    Background Check:

    Positions dealing with children, of safety-sensitive and/or confidential nature, require driving or positions that handle cash may require a background check and MVR check. Employment is contingent upon a favorable background check and MVR check.
