Have you ever wanted to work in a busy, touristy, Coastal Maine town? Do you have experience shucking oysters? If so this is the place for you! The art of shucking oysters is not something everyone can do, we are looking for someone who can keep up with the demand of our perfectly shucked oysters that we are well known for!

We are the Barnacle located in Bar Harbor, Maine. We seasonally serve locally farmed Oysters on the half shell, and we are looking to add to our team of shuckers. With such a limited menu we require previous experience. This shift is fast paced so someone self driven with integrity and takes pride in their finished product is necessary for this role. In the past we have opened the kitchen Memorial day due to lack of staff. The position can begin earlier if a new hire is found in advance.

This year we are happy to announce we have employee shared housing in town, within a 10 minute walk to the business. The kitchen typically has been open Memorial Day through Halloween. Please consider spending a season here with us and enjoy exploring Acadia National Park on your days off!
