Ice Cream Scooper

The Chill Spot is a small ice cream business on the beautiful beaches of North Carolina's Outer Banks! We offer a fun season working in the shop and we offer seasonal housing for certain employees - spots are limited. You can't go wrong working in a happy industry like ice cream - employees and customers having a good time. A great place to spend a few months making money (over $20/hr average in 2020-24 seasons), playing in the ocean, and meeting awesome people.

The Outer Banks of NC is a beautiful stretch of barrier islands on the east coast. Warm water, fun surf, everything you need is biking distance in town, and many seasonal workers here to meet new friends. Plus, how many times in life will you be able to say you lived a 5 minute walk to the beach? It’s a no brainer- go ahead and apply!

Corolla and Duck, North Carolina

When:

We will be open from April 7, 2025 - end of October. Ideal candidates will be available for the majority of this window. 

(Even if you are just available for the first half, or the second half, please make that known.)

**We do need a few employees that can start when we open for the season! If you are able to make that work, that can greatly increase your chance of being hired.

Company Culture:

Pretty laid-back, but fast-paced job. We live at the beach so we honor that with our style and attitude, but we are a top tourism destination so we get hundreds of customers coming through the door each day, and a line out the door at night. We crank out quick service and we keep the workplace fun and smiling so customers are usually doing the same. No one gets ice cream in a bad mood!

Housing:

Seasonal housing on the Outer Banks is becoming more and more difficult these days... BUT! we do have seasonal housing!! We have a 4 bedroom house located 1.5 miles from our Corolla shop, and 10 miles from our Duck shop. All employees will work both stores so transportation likely necessary. Rooms are shared in the house. Shoulder season rent (April, May, Sept, Oct) is $530/month. Summer months $635/month. This includes all utilities. 

The house is in a central location close to a grocery stores, gas station, main tourism shopping center, 5 minute walk down nice path to the beach, multi-use bike path, restaurants, etc.

Hopefully you! The Outer Banks is a really special part of the US. It's an awesome place to come work and spend the season. We are looking for smiley/happy individuals that are reliable, hard-working, beach-loving, and spontaneous (takes some spontaneity to even be considering seasonal jobs somewhere new)!
