Frosty Bar is a third-generation, family-owned restaurant and bar located on the beautiful summer resort island of Put-in-Bay! Our customers are seasonal residents, boaters, and day-trippers. Each year we employ about 80 seasonal workers from all over the world, ages 19-29 in our restaurants and retail store, many of whom are returning from previous seasons.
Frostys serves breakfast in the morning, pizza and burritos for lunch and dinner, and cold beer and cocktails all day! As a bartender/server you may be scheduled to work at various times ranging between 8/10am-5/6pm for day shifts or 5/6pm-2am for the evening shifts. Some duties will include making drinks for customers and servers, taking food orders, delivering food, and providing hospitality to guests. Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Proven experience bartending or serving in a challenging environment is a plus. Restaurant experience is preferred, but not required, as our team will happily train folks with welcoming personalities and a great work ethic! Pay is hourly + tips and housing is provided, with weekly rent taken directly from your paycheck.
Frosty’s provides housing for all employees. Most new employees will live in the dormitory located right in the heart of downtown Put-in-Bay. Dormitory residents can walk to all needed amenities on the island including work, the post office, grocery store, and bank. The dorm has two floors,generally divided by gender with laundry facilities on each floor. The lounge area on the first floor has food and beverage vending machines and a microwave. All rooms are doubles and supplied with bunk beds, dressers, high-speed internet, and air conditioning. The dorm is supervised by a dorm manager who lives on premises.
Our season begins in early April and ends in October with Halloween weekend. Workweeks are typically 40hrs with the opportunity for weekly overtime for those expressing willingness to exceed expectations and demonstrate leadership skills. Employees should be prepared to work a 6-day workweek, including all weekends and holidays. Required days are Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, plus two weekends in the fall following Labor Day.
As a family owned establishment, Frosty’s thrives on the positive and hardworking mentality of all staff. Owners and managers are always available and work directly along side employees, tidying, cooking, mixing drinks, and taking out trash whenever needed. Workplaces and residences will be clean and safe. Your summer will be fun!
