    We’re hiring a Housekeeper to Live. Work. Explore. just one mile from the entrance to the iconic south rim of Grand Canyon National Park!

    Job Summary:
    Cleans guest rooms and suites to ensure highest standards of cleanliness and service. Reports maintenance deficiencies, handles guests’ requests and ensures the confidentiality and security of all guest rooms and suites.

    The Details:
    Position Type: Full-Time, Year-Round

    Pay: $15.60 per hour
    Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

    Responsibilities

    • Clean assigned guest accommodations to Company standards (within allocated time period) including making beds, cleaning bathrooms, dusting, amenities, removing dirty linens, cleaning outside guest rooms, in hallways and surrounding grounds.
    • Control all keys, master, and guest room keys, and maintain security of guest rooms, both vacant and occupied.
    • Strictly follow standards in cleaning stay over rooms in dealing with guest’s property.
    • Follow instructions given by the Inspector, Supervisor or Management regarding having to return to the room to correct any discrepancies.
    • Strictly follow all lost and found procedures. Immediately report lost and found items to the Inspector, Supervisor or Management.
    • Report any maintenance related problems to the Inspector, Supervisor or Management immediately.
    • Stock cart neatly and safely, according to standards as instructed.
    • Follow instructions on the use of all chemicals and cleaning agents.
    • Practice and adhere to environmental and risk management procedures, including recycling and morning stretch to ensure a safe working environment. Report any safety problems immediately to your supervisors.
    • Wear the required personal protective equipment while performing tasks.
    • Effectively performs tasks without close supervision.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Knowledge of rooms and hotel layout of The Grand Hotel property, including general knowledge of available services with the ability to convey information to the guests.
    • Previous experience in a housekeeping or custodial position.

    Job Summary:

    Under direction of the Human Resource Director, manages the day to day operation of human resource functions and processes ensuring compliance at The Grand Hotel and Tusayan Trading Post. Responsible for administration of a broad range of responsibilities: employee relations, recruiting and staffing, housing, recordkeeping, data entry, implementation of policies and procedures, training, etc. Coordinate recruiting efforts, monitor staffing needs, while adhering to Xanterra’s policies and procedures.

    Position Type: Full-Time, Year-Round
    Pay: $53,000+ per year
    Schedule: May include weekends, evenings, and holidays.

    Housing: Eligible for free room & board.

    Responsibilities

    • Fully understand and support Xanterra Mission Statement and Core Values.
    • Continually focus on providing exceptional guest service as a primary goal, both in how work is conducted and provided.
    • Ensures smooth and effective day-to-day administrative functions are accurately completed. This includes administration of a broad range of responsibilities: employee relations, recruiting and staffing, housing, record-keeping, data entry, implementation of policies and procedures, training, etc.
    • Builds employee relationships; be available to employees/management to discuss concerns, ensure that employment and other issues pertinent to the employee are properly administered, ensure employee/management issues are consistently and properly addressed, provide guidance to managers/supervisors regarding their personnel and that applicable corrective action is properly implemented.
    • Oversees HR Generalist in the timely and accurate data entry of all personnel information and accurate processing of new hires – ensuring I-9 compliance through monthly audits, processing changes of status, benefits, terms, separations, time off requests, LOA/FMLA/STD/ADA, etc.
    • Oversees on and off property housing including placement, conflict resolution and works with maintenance manager to ensure housing work orders and projects are completed.
    • Works with Corporate centralized recruitment team on the and planning national recruiting efforts, including international visa programs and processes; based on predetermined employment goals while maintaining compliance with the Affirmative Action Plan and government regulations.
    • Works with HR Generalist and Corporate centralized recruiting team to coordinate property-to-property employment transfer requests and offers. Assists with coordinating with management staff regarding their involvement in the interview process.
    • Works with General Manager and Operations Manager on strategic planning regarding staffing, employee engagement, housing, and employee dining room.
    • Communicates background check alert results with Director of Human Resources. Follow proper procedures for Pre-Adverse and Adverse Action.
    • Supports Department Managers through staff’s employee life-cycle i.e. recruiting, on-boarding, development through performance management, retention, and off-boarding
    • Presents HR New Hire Orientation and tracking attendees to ensure 100% completion of processes.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • 3-5 years working knowledge of HR practices and principals or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Experience with managing employee relations, benefits, implementation of policies and procedures, and new employee orientation.
    • Demonstrated ability to serve as a knowledgeable resource to the management team that provides overall company leadership and direction.
    • Must be able to work independently and collaboratively.
    • Must possess a valid Arizona Driver’s License and be able to comply with the Xanterra/GCR Company Vehicle Policy.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Three (3) years’ experience in a leadership role, with demonstrated ability to lead and develop HR department staff members.
    • PHR and experience in the hospitality industry.
    • CloudeSuite, Kronos and Outlook experience.
    • Bi-lingual language skills (English/Spanish).

    This is a floor supervisory position that requires coordination between staffing and business levels assisting where necessary to accommodate guest service.

    Responsibilities

    • Fully understand and support Xanterra Mission Statement and Core Values.
    • Focus on always providing exceptional quality of service to guests while maximizing profitability, both in how work is conducted and when interacting with guests.
    • Ensure adherence for self, and all assigned staff, to all prescribed Company, statutory/regulatory policies, and procedures.
    • Support F&B Training programs as assigned.
    • Comply with all state laws and company policies regarding alcohol.
    • Ensure proper accounting procedures are enforced for check outs, voids, comps, special event billing, tours and resumes.
    • Support all FOH activities in food and beverage outlets.
    • Ensure all guest/employee challenges and complaints are handled in a professional manner.
    • Continually operate all facilities to maximize food, beverage, labor and operational costs within budget.
    • Ensure staff members are in pressed and clean uniform with their nametag.
    • Support participation in updating attendance cards for all employees.
    • Ensure dining room facilities are maintained and clean.
    • Enforce all side work duties are assigned and completed.
    • Administer disciplinary actions fairly and consistently working with Operations Manager, General Manager and/or Human Resources.
    • Conduct Service Briefings daily before shifts.
    • Communicate with other Service Managers and Unit Manager on a regular basis after a shift.
    • Other duties assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Must be at least 18 years of age or older to be able to legally serve and sell alcohol beverages in the state of Arizona.
    • Knowledge of food and beverage service acquired through at least 6 months’ previous experience in food service management.
    • Basic knowledge of Word & Excel software.
