    Job Summary:

    The Housekeeping Inspector will examine and complete assigned section of guest rooms to ensure adherence to company standards and quality guest service.

    The Details:
    Position Type: Full-Time, Year-Round
    Pay:$16.80/hr
    Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

    Responsibilities

    • Fully understand and support Xanterra Mission Statement and Core Values.
    • Focus on always providing exceptional quality of service to guests while maximizing profitability, both in how work is conducted and quality of work.
    • Inspect daily, entire assigned section (guest rooms, linen rooms, hallways, grounds etc.) to ensure cleanliness, safety, and proper condition to meet or exceed departmental and company standards.
    • Report condition and status of guest rooms to Front Desk in an efficient and timely manner.
    • Maintain and uphold all company policies, assist in the development of assigned employees through training and performance enhancement.
    • Report to Executive Housekeeper on the performance and/or behavior of the employees assigned to the inspector.
    • Assume duties of a GRA when necessary and able to effectively carry out duties of any assigned inspector shift.
    • Control keys, master, and guest room keys, and maintain security of all guest rooms, both occupied and unoccupied.
    • Enforce safety regulations, precautions, and information to provide a safe working atmosphere for self and employees assigned.
    • Communicate effectively with Executive Housekeeper, Front Desk personnel, Bell Attendant staff, maintenance and other departments and guests.
    • Participate in established programs designed to further professional growth and development.
    • Adhere to all prescribed Company, statutory/regulatory policies, and procedures such as safety, risk management and environmental policies.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Knowledge of rooms and hotel layout The Grand Hotel property, including general knowledge of available services with the ability to convey information to the guests.
    • Previous experience in a housekeeping or custodial position.

    Physical Requirements include:

    Constantly walk.

    Frequently stand, reach outward and above shoulder, bend, lift/carry up to 20 lbs, and push/pull up to 100 lbs.

    Occassionally sit, climb, crawl, squat/kneel, and lift/carry uup to 100 lbs.

    Work hours may include nonstandard workweek, overtime, varying shifts, and call out coverage.

    Responsibilities

    • Fully understand and support Xanterra Mission Statement and Core Values.
    • Continually focus on providing exceptional guest service as a primary goal, both in how work is conducted and when interacting with guests.
    • Complete general maintenance assigned maintenance requests, ensuring timely completion, thoroughness, and cost effectiveness.
    • Performs pool maintenance maintains county pool maintenance license.
    • Handle multiple callouts or work orders, work independently and perform trade call outs as necessary.
    • Operate designated heavy equipment safely and efficiently as necessary and directed.
    • Perform second level maintenance and repairs as related to the preventive maintenance program.
    • Ability to perform second level trade functions such as electrical motor trouble shooting to 220 volts, plumbing, refrigeration/HVAC, basic boiler operation and kitchen equipment repair.
    • Ensures all repairs involving electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, and other repairs must adhere to current building codes and regulations.
    • Perform Lock Out / Tag Out Procedures
    • Perform basic carpentry and painting duties as necessary and directed.
    • Report maintenance problems in an accurate fashion that require trade specific skill and attention.
    • Maintenance personnel must proactively seek out and report any safety issues regarding electrical, plumbing, HVAC, so that proper repairs can be made.
    • Performs monthly inspections including fire extinguisher, emergency lights, and eye wash stations.
    • Adhere to all safety, risk management and environmental policies and procedures.
    • Wear all required personal protective equipment in carrying out assigned tasks.
    • Work various shifts as required.
    • Adhere to all prescribed Company, statutory/regulatory policies and procedures.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Must possess a valid/clear Arizona Driver’s License, and be able to comply with the Xanterra Tusayan, LLC Company Vehicle Policy.
    • Must be willing and able to acquire CPO Certification within 30 days of employment.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Minimum one year’s experience in general building maintenance, or in trades such as electrical, refrigeration, plumbing, etc.
    • Competent in all areas of the General Maintenance III position

    Physical Requirements include:

    Constantly stand, walk, work in inclement weather, and work non-standard workweek, overtime, varying shifts, and call out coverage.

    Frequently lifting and carrying up to 10 lbs..

    Responsibilities

    • Oversees on and off property housing including placement, conflict resolution and works with maintenance manager to ensure housing work orders and projects are completed.
    • Works with Corporate centralized recruitment team on the and planning national recruiting efforts, including international visa programs and processes; based on predetermined employment goals while maintaining compliance with the Affirmative Action Plan and government regulations.
    • Works with HR Generalist and Corporate centralized recruiting team to coordinate property-to-property employment transfer requests and offers. Assists with coordinating with management staff regarding their involvement in the interview process.
    • Works with General Manager and Operations Manager on strategic planning regarding staffing, employee engagement, housing, and employee dining room.
    • Communicates background check alert results with Director of Human Resources. Follow proper procedures for Pre-Adverse and Adverse Action.
    • Supports Department Managers through staff’s employee life-cycle i.e. recruiting, on-boarding, development through performance management, retention, and off-boarding
    • Presents HR New Hire Orientation and tracking attendees to ensure 100% completion of processes.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • 3-5 years working knowledge of HR practices and principals or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Experience with managing employee relations, benefits, implementation of policies and procedures, and new employee orientation.
    • Demonstrated ability to serve as a knowledgeable resource to the management team that provides overall company leadership and direction.
    • Must be able to work independently and collaboratively.
    • Must possess a valid Arizona Driver’s License and be able to comply with the Xanterra/GCR Company Vehicle Policy.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Three (3) years’ experience in a leadership role, with demonstrated ability to lead and develop HR department staff members.
    • PHR and experience in the hospitality industry.
    • CloudeSuite, Kronos and Outlook experience.
    • Bi-lingual language skills (English/Spanish).

    Responsibilities

    • Fully understand and support Xanterra Mission Statement and Core Values.
    • Focus on always providing exceptional quality of service to guests while maximizing profitability, both in how work is conducted and when interacting with guests.
    • Ensure adherence for self, and all assigned staff, to all prescribed Company, statutory/regulatory policies, and procedures such as Hygiene, Food Sanitation and Environment, Health & Safety (EHS)
    • Responsible for creating and maintaining a positive working relationship with Coconino Public Health Department and acting with vigilance in any areas of Public Health concern.
    • Support F&B training requirements by scheduling staff and assisting with conducting assigned classes. Enforce Food Safety and HACCP food sanitation program for entire food and beverage outlet kitchens.
    • Ensures buffet set-up, maintenance and break down in accordance with current timetable. Follows staffing guides for FOH and sets up sections for the meal period. Makes necessary adjustments based on staffing absences and last minute changes, such as increase/decreases in guest counts.
    • Perform periodic walk-through in the kitchen and all other areas of food service to ensure food quality, consistency, presentation, cleanliness and safety are maintained. Working closely with FOH Managers.
    • Under direction of Kitchen Manager and/or Assistant Kitchen Manager, work closely with the Steward to continually train in all aspects of the kitchen.
    • Apply thorough knowledge of food preparation, including organization of daily menu production with the focus of maintaining food quality, spec consistency and buffet/plate presentation.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
    • Two (2) years previous supervisory or lead cook experience in a high volume ala carte dining or institutional establishment with progressive cooking/menu development with the ability to train employees in all kitchen positions; with a goal of advancing staff within the kitchen.
    • Prior experience with food production records, scheduling employees and inventory/cost controls.

    Physical Requirements include:

    Frequently: Standing, walking, handling, reaching outward & above shoulder, kneeling/squatting, and bending.

    Must be able to lift & carry up to 20 lbs constantly, up to 50 lbs frequently, and 51-100 lbs occasionally.

    Must be able to push/pull up to 25 lbs frequently.
