    Job Summary:
    We are looking for a Host / Cashier to greet and offer hospitality to our guests at the Oasis at Death Valley. Our Host is the first person our guests will communicate with when entering our food outlets. Their personality and professionalism will instill confidence in our guests and will have a direct influence on the environment. Job responsibilities will vary depending on the assigned outlet (Employee Dining Room, Last Kind Words Saloon, Deli, 1849 Buffet). Our mission is to provide legendary service to our guests visiting from all over the world, and your work is instrumental to our success!

    Responsibilities

    • Greet guests and seat them based on where they will best be served.
    • Establish and efficiently use a waiting list when necessary.
    • Ensures that all guests are served in a prompt, courteous manner by giving proper direction to servers and server assistants.
    • Acts diplomatically in resolving guest issues.
    • Familiar with all server/server assistant procedures and responsibilities and is able to make adjustments as needed.
    • Answers all telephone calls using proper phone etiquette.
    • Responsible for daily knowledge of room count, special events or banquets scheduled in the assigned outlet.
    • May be issued a cash bank and be required to adhere to all Cashier Money Handling Policies and Procedures by correctly entering orders, collecting payment, and completing end of shift balancing in assigned outlet.
    • May be expected to perform simple food preparation tasks in assigned outlet.
    • May be expected to serve food and beverage per F&B Standards in assigned outlet.
    • Perform all opening and closing duties for the appropriate shift and assigned outlet including cleaning, removal of trash, and sweeping and mopping of floor.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Previous food preparation, cashiering, or hosting experience preferred.
    • Excellent guest service skills.
    • Must be well-groomed and have excellent personal hygiene.

    Responsibilities

    • Perform all duties toward the goal of providing excellent guest service in an efficient manner.
    • Follow all policies, procedures and service standards.
    • Accurately record and enter all food (where applicable) and beverage items in to the POS system; produce, pick up, garnish and serve food and beverages promptly to guests; collect and process forms of payment; ensuring guest satisfaction throughout.
    • Maximize sale by using menu knowledge and suggestive selling techniques. Motivate and educate staff in up-selling and wine salesmanship. Ensure established standards of beverage service are met.
    • Offer and serve alcoholic beverages while adhering to established Xanterra alcohol policies.
    • Maintain cleanliness of lounge and service areas. Ensure work area is orderly and properly stocked.
    • Responsible for collecting accurate payment from the guest and depositing the exact amount of sales.

    Qualifications

    • Ability to organize and prioritize under pressure while maintaining a calm and pleasant demeanor.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with guests, co-workers, and supervisors.
    • Ability to absorb large amounts of information quickly: Service procedures, beverage and food menus as appropriate, Aloha point of sales.
    • Knowledge of brands, selections and recipes helpful.
    • Computer experience and knowledge of ordering procedures.
    • Knowledge of basic sanitation.
    • Certification in the TIPS alcohol awareness program is required. Workshops will be provided if not currently certified.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Must be able to stand for long periods of time, approximately 8 hours.
    • Must be able to walk for long periods of time.
    • Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds.
    • Must be able to bend, stretch, and reach for extended periods of time.

    Responsibilities

    The Security Guard (We call it Fire Life Safety Officer) serves to provide personal safety for the guests, employees, and visitors of the Oasis at Death Valley. Also performs additional activities such as, first responder, firefighting, and transportation.

    Responsibilities

    • Must be able to demonstrate professional and courteous behavior with all guests and employees.

    • Checks in deliveries for the Housekeeping and Rooms Department and distributes them to the appropriate areas.

    • Communicates with Housekeeping team regarding special requests and room status.
    • Performs Housekeeping dispatch duties.
    • Follows proper procedures in daily receiving of supplies and goods. Matches purchase orders/receiving documents to delivered supplies. Checks goods for correctness in quantity, weight and pack size specifications and condition of goods.
    • Assists in Housekeeping warehouse monthly inventories as directed.
    • Assists in warehouse sanitation/cleanliness functions as required.
    • Communicates with other departments via email.
    • Ability to learn the OPERA—The Property Management System at the Oasis.
    • Organizes invoices by date, property and GL CODE.
    • Light laundry duties.
    • Will oversee uniforms. Assisting employees to get into their proper uniform and fill out and file all necessary paperwork.
    • All other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
    • Must be 18 years of age
    • Strong computer skills—Microsoft Office & Opera PMS experience preferred
    • Able to file, use Excel and be organized.

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for understanding and practicing proper chemical storage, handling and refill procedures.
    • Works with all distributors with deliveries and ensure product is acceptable and matches invoice, and properly puts all orders away under the direction of MOD at the Inn and the Ranch.
    • Assist the Inn & Ranch to maintain cleanliness and organization of the overall kitchen which includes mop room, cooler, dry storage.
    • Works with co-workers to ensure the proper disposal of trash and cardboard.
    • Maintains temperature charts of all coolers and hot storage on a daily basis.
    • Cleans and organizes prep kitchen, line, storerooms, walk-in coolers and chemical storage.
    • Maintains post mix sodas by sorting, stacking and storing.
    • Properly stores empty bags, boxes and crates.
    • Maintains mop room and equipment including mop heads changing.
    • Keeps all equipment, food and paper properly stored.
    • Assists buffet and dish room personnel with stocking, storage and preparation of food. Ensure proper date and time marking of buffet items and all food products.
    • Works with co-workers to ensure the sweeping and mopping of entire kitchen including coolers and dry storage is completed in a timely manner.
    • Notifies supervisor of any problems needing immediate attention.
    • Ensures all daily cleaning assignments on Kitchen Cleaning Schedule are completed.
    • Ensures all daily cleaning assignments on Dishwasher Closing Check List are completed.
    • Completes all assignments on Steward Cleaning Schedule.
    • Other Duties as Assigned

    Qualifications

    • Possess valid Driver’s License and comply with the Oasis at Death Valley Company Vehicle Policy.

    Responsibilities

    Responsibilities

    • Fully understand and support Xanterra Mission Statement and Core Values.

    Responsibilities

    • Ensure that the lodging units are cleaned to the highest standard.

    Responsibilities

    • Complete work orders and repairs in a timely and thorough manner, maintaining cost effectiveness in repairs for industrial, kitchen and residential electrical and gas fired equipment and facilities.
    • Evaluate condition of equipment and make recommendations for repair or replacement.     Responsibilities

    • Operates lawn mowers and string trimmers in trimming greens, aprons, and tees and around trees. Edges cart paths, rakes, and maintains sand bunkers.

    Job Summary:

    The General Maintenance Technician position provides assistance and/or leads all trades and performs general light to medium maintenance to facilities and grounds as assigned including operating the solid waste program and maintaining pools. The General Maintenance Technician position is required to be available for weekend and night shifts. The ideal candidate will be able to work efficiently on his/her own with minimal supervision, possess excellent communication skills and have a willingness to work as a team.

    Position Type: Full-time Year-round or Seasonal
    Start Dates: November 2024
    Pay: $18.10/hr
    Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

    Responsibilities

    • Maintain security and safety of all job sites and work areas for self, fellow workers, staff, guests and any other person(s) possibly affected during performance of assignments.
    • Perform all assignments as directed by the Lead GMA/Assistant Director of Engineering (or his/her designate) assuring safety, quality, timeliness and cost effectiveness.
    • Maintain a spirit of cooperation within the department and throughout the property.
    • Work hours, shifts, and overtime as required and/or assigned by the Assistant Director of Engineering or his/her designate.
    • Provide labor to facilitate Working Leads’ assignments.
    • Must be able to demonstrate professional and courteous behavior with all guests and employees.
    • All other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • A valid driver’s license.
    • At least 6 months experience in general maintenance.
    • Basic understanding of electrical, carpentry, painting and plumbing.
    • Experience in any other trades such as vehicle maintenance, welding, machine operation, etc a plus.
    • Must be able to read and write in English. Bilingual a plus.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
    • Ability to climb and work from a ladder up to 40 feet from ground level.
    • Ability to enter and work in crawl spaces, attics and manholes.
    • Must be able to work in outdoor environments with extreme temperatures.

    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to extreme conditions which include extreme hot conditions in the Summer.
