    Job Summary:

    The Security Guard (We call it Fire Life Safety Officer) serves to provide personal safety for the guests, employees, and visitors of the Oasis at Death Valley. Undertake surveillance of premises and protection of staff and visitors. Responsible for detecting suspicious behavior and preventing vandalism, theft, and other criminal behavior. Also performs additional activities such as, first responder, firefighting, and transportation.

    Position Type: Full-time Year-round Only
    Start Dates: December 2024 and January 2025
    Pay: $18.80
    Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

    Responsibilities

    • Perform public safety and protective functions while handling emergencies, disturbances and threats to property and life.
    • Maintain a safe and secure living, working, and Park experience for all employees and guests.
    • Patrol buildings and grounds to observe and identify potential safety risks and undesirable conditions, such as fires, theft, and vandalism.
    • Conduct ongoing inspections; thoroughly patrol property during shift to assess levels of safety on location.
    • Observe, report, and document any violations of policies, rules, regulations, and laws governing your location.
    • Other duties as assigned.
    • Must be able to demonstrate professional and courteous behavior with all guests and employees.

    Qualifications

    • Must possess current driver’s license.
    • Previous/similar experience preferred.
    • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
    • Ability to become proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Internet, and other computer-based applications.
    • Must be willing to work any combination of days, evenings, and nights as needed.
    • Must possess or can obtain CPR/First Aid and AED certification.
    • Able to follow instructions with follow-up, respect, and integrity.

    Responsibilities

    Physical Requirements

    • Constantly listening, hearing, seeing, standing, walking, using eye/hand coordination, handling, wrist motion.
    • Frequently walk and lift or carry up to 50 lbs.
    • Occasionally sit, handle, reach outward, reach above shoulder, squat, or kneel, lift/carry, and push or pull up to 100lbs.
    • Will be required to stand long periods of time and to occasionally walk-up flights of stairs.
    • Ability to work in extreme temperatures.

    Driving Company-owned Vehicles

    • Company vehicles many include golf and utility cars and passenger vehicles. To be considered for this role, employees must be at least 18 years of age, possess a valid driver’s license, or international permit, and must not have three or more moving violations within the last twelve months. Employees on temporary permits or probationary licenses will not be allowed to drive company vehicles. Drivers may need to lift heavy objects and load them into their vehicles, requiring upper body strength and physical stamina. A minimum visual acuity of 20/50 (or corrected to 20/50) is required. The company reserves the right to periodically check the driving records of all operators of company owned, rented, or leased vehicles to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

    Responsibilities

    • Helps maintain budgeted food cost through portion control, utilizing leftovers and controlling waste. Adjusts to meet business levels.
    • Responsible for the EDR kitchen and pantry, to ensure food quality and presentation.
    • Monitors FIFO (First in First Out), making sure each area is properly labeled.
    • Works with kitchen leads to keep storage areas clean and organized. Supports stewards to keep common areas organized and clean.
    • Ensures sanitation guidelines per Serv-Safe are being followed; ensures sanitation buckets are in use and temperature checks and logs are being maintained.
    • Ensures recipe books and portion controls are in use and being followed.
    • Assists in monthly inventory.
    • In charge of freezer pulls for each area.
    • Responsible for security of kitchen including locking up, reporting any discrepancies, making sure all food leaving kitchens has an Aloha receipt, BEO, or Amenity Order.
    • Working knowledge of Kronos and FoodTrak software. Ability to cover steward shifts.
    • Conducts station checks during shift changes and prior to service. Ensures open and closing duties are being followed.
    • Works line shifts during slow business periods and times of staffing shortages.
    • Available for both AM and PM shifts.
    • All other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • 1 to 2 years supervisory/management experience in a restaurant and/or hospitality kitchen, in multi-unit F&B operations preferred.
    • Trained and knowledgeable in all stations of the kitchens.
    • Leadership skills with ability to prioritize, multi-task and be accountable for duties & projects.
    • General computer knowledge.
    • Valid driver’s license.

    Responsibilities

    • Maintain security and safety of all job sites and work areas for self, fellow workers, staff, guests and any other person(s) possibly affected during performance of assignments.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
    • Ability to climb and work from a ladder up to 40 feet from ground level.
    • Ability to enter and work in crawl spaces, attics and manholes.
    • Must be able to work in outdoor environments with extreme temperatures.

Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus; electrical and gas components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of the malfunction and correct the problem. Advise management regarding safety and cost effectiveness of equipment operation.
    • Oversee completion and documentation of work orders, ensuring accuracy and detail with regard to materials, labor, and equipment.
    • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
    • Perform preventive scheduled maintenance on electrical and gas fired equipment as directed.
    • Perform all work with guest service in mind, keeping equipment and operational down time to a minimum.
    • Assist with installation of electrical and gas fired equipment.
    • Adhere to all aspects of the National Electrical Code.
    • Work from ladders, scaffolds, vertical boom lift, and roofs to install, maintain, or repair electrical and gas fired equipment.
    • Adhere to all safety, risk management, and environmental policies and procedures.
    • Assist in the training and development of lower Electrician grades. This would include installation of motors, transformers, circuit breakers and other devices related to electrical and gas fired appliances/equipment; diagnosing and maintaining other electrical and gas fired equipment in a safe manner.
    • Required to attend the following Xanterra courses within 3 months: (1) LOTO, (2) Confined Space, (3) Electrical Safety, (4) Personal Protective Equipment, (4) Ladder Safety, (5) Defensive Driving (6) Fall Protection (7) Other related safety training pertinent to the position.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Four years experience as an Electrician.
    • Ability to work with voltages ranging from 0-480 volts (1200k volts where applicable), which includes single phase and three phase.
    • Possess working knowledge on National Electrical Code.
    • Ability to read, comprehend and draw schematics and diagrams.
    • Ability to distinguish between “delta” and “Y” connected transformers.
    • Ability to give an accurate estimate of time and material necessary for a given project.
    • Ability to trouble-shoot and repair control circuits using a variety of testing equipment including ammeters, multimeters, oscilloscopes and test lamps.
    • Ability to trouble-shoot and repair commercial and residential electrical and gas fired kitchen equipment and appliances.
    • Ability to bend rigid and electrical metallic tubing conduits.
    • Ability to install residential wiring including Romex and flexible conduit.
    • Ability to install 3-way and 4-way light switches.
    • Ability to perform limited electrical motor repair.
    • Possess or obtain a valid California Driver’s License within 90 days of start date and comply with the Xanterra Vehicle Policy.
    • Have the physical ability to perform the tasks of the job including entering confined space and ascending/descending ladders.

    We are looking for an HVAC Technician to assist with the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of domestic and commercial refrigeration, heating and air conditioning systems as well as ice making equipment. This role requires overtime and on-call shifts as required by the Chief of Engineering or other leader.
