Guest Services: It's not your typical guest job! Imagine working and living with a high-energy, motivated team who loves the outdoors as much as you do. You'll help introduce our guests to outdoor recreation by helping plan incredible adventures tailored just for them!
Specific Skills: We’re looking for individuals with exceptional communication skills—whether in person, over the phone, or in writing—who can thrive in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail, accuracy, and meeting deadlines are essential, as is a willingness to learn and adapt. Sales experience or interest is a bonus, and we value team members who are eager to contribute to the company’s growth and success.
The Personality That Fits: A person who is passionate about outdoor adventure and can genuinely express this excitement to guests on-site and on the phone. The ideal employee is comfortable picking up the phone, talking to a stranger, helping someone out, and dealing with difficult circumstances in a friendly and firm manner. This person adapts quickly and can switch focus with ease. When working on reservations, it's not uncommon to jump between desks, phones, and emails as you work where the guests need you most! Our culture depends on owning our mistakes humbly and working as a team to resolve them. Overall this team works closely to provide the cohesive and warm guest experience that Wildman is known for.
Who We Are: We’re a small, independent and innovative outdoor adventure company with a 33-year track record of success. We work with guests from across the Midwest, throughout the United States, Canada, and other parts of the world offering vacation experiences that are unique and adventurous. We have two locations and entertain and lead groups of guests in activities from both locations like whitewater rafting, stand-up paddle boarding, high ropes course, rock climbing, lake kayak tours,zip-lining, paintball, and golf. We also offer a bar, restaurant, a variety of lodging, meal packages, and a small retail store. As a team, we have lots of fun! “The work hard, play hard mentality.” We strive to provide our guests with the best possible experience and customer service from the time they make their first phone call to the moment they leave our resort.
Where You'll Be Working: We have a professional, yet fun and casual office environment in the wilderness of northern Wisconsin. We are located in the towns of Silver Cliff and Niagara. Our two river locations are 40 miles apart and our offices and activities are split between the two locations. Office staff may be required to work at both locations, depending on the needs of the business and our guests.
When You're Here: This is a full-time summer position. For the right person, a hybrid/remote opportunity exists. Our peak season lies between Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day weekend. Hours range between 20-40+ a week depending on the person. We are the busiest on the weekends, therefore you should plan to interact with our guests every weekend. We believe you can't sell what you don't know, so prepare to take on our different adventures and have some fun!
What You Can Expect From Us: We are very focused on creating an extraordinary guest experience that our business has built over 30+ years of operations. To make this a reality, we have high expectations for our team. You must be prepared to problem-solve and think quickly without the guests knowing there is an issue (swim like a swan!). We offer quick solutions and a direct line of contact for our guests, ensuring their trip is thoughtfully pieced together from our first contact until they head home with sleepy smiles. Compensation for this position starts at $10/hour, with opportunities to level up based on performance. Housing and some meals are also included. There is a 30-day trial/training period. Management can remove any employee who is not meeting expectations. This position offers many opportunities to build your skills, expand your resume, and manage projects specific to your interests and goals. If you're hoping to build a career in the outdoor industry, this is the spot for you!
