Are you enthusiastic about hospitality, people, and beautiful places? By working at Yellowstone National Park, you will get all three! As the Resident Coordinator, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily administrative functions that keep the park running smoothly.
Job Summary:
As a Resident Coordinator, you will be responsible for the upkeep of dorm appearances (cleaning public areas inside and outside of dorms), preparing rooms, providing linen, and deep cleaning, while establishing a positive, professional working relationship with all residents, and striving to create and maintain a sense of ownership and community within the dorm you supervise.
The Details:
Position Type: Seasonal
Season Dates: March-November
Pay: $17.75/hour
Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities:
Establish positive, professional relationships with all residents. This includes interacting with all residents courteously and respectfully, providing excellent customer service, setting expectations early and often, and learning residents’ names/positions/interests.
Plan, facilitate, support, and participate in weekly community involvement efforts. This includes being cognizant of residents’ schedules and interests while selecting activities and/or content, assisting other housing staff and community members in the implementation of such efforts, and striving to create and encourage a fun, engaging environment based on respect and inclusivity.
Maintain high standards of residence housekeeping by following weekly and daily cleaning schedules as set by management, which includes, but are not limited to, groundskeeping of litter and debris around the exterior of dormitories, cleaning and maintaining public areas such as restrooms, lobbies, and laundry rooms, and deep cleaning resident rooms before arrival and/or following departure.
Ensure proper use of chemicals and cleaning supplies, while following established personal protective equipment procedures.
Maintain high standards of residence safety through consistent visual checks of egress routes, monthly safety inspections, and collaborating with security on relevant issues and/or concerns.
Keep accurate and detailed administrative records related to dorm management, including resident arrivals and departures, monthly safety inspections, linen control, supply control, Omnigo reporting, and other administrative duties as assigned.
Comply with established key control policy and procedures, and ensure all master key activity is properly logged.
Handle all resident and personnel matters with sensitivity and maintain the appropriate level of confidentiality, sharing information surrounding these matters with the appropriate individuals.
Make proper judgment calls regarding the escalation of issues beyond their position, including, but not limited to, dorm compliance issues, employee relations issues, NPS violations, interpersonal conflicts, and workplace concerns.
Positively represent Xanterra Parks and Resorts and serve as a role model for all residents by complying with all dormitory regulations, Xanterra Parks and Resorts policies, and state and federal laws.
Qualifications:
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to learn and utilize basic computer systems.
Basic knowledge of dormitory regulations, Xanterra Parks and Resorts policies and procedures, and National Park rules and regulations.
Ability to work independently with limited interaction and/or within a team environment.
Ability to de-escalate and/or mediate and make appropriate judgment decisions during minor conflicts.
Physical Requirements:
Must be willing and able to work any shift (day, afternoon, and overnight).
Ability to walk up to a mile at a time on uneven terrain, including icy and snow-covered areas, and climb stairs multiple times through shift.
Ability to sustain extended periods of standing, bending, lifting, and/or carrying up to 25 pounds without assistance, pushing up to 50 pounds while moving carts and/or wagons, and kneeling and/or lying flat on the ground to inspect/clean employee areas.
