Guest Services and Lodge Crew
We are looking for people to join our crew who are dynamic and enthusiastic about guest services as well as contributing to the operations of the lodge. An important part of this role is ensuring our guests receive the highest level of service and hospitality from the moment they arrive until their departure. The ideal candidate will be passionate about the outdoors, possess excellent communication skills, and have a keen eye for detail. The lodge is a busy place and we are a small, tight-knit team. We love to hire folks who are dependable and have great personalities to go into any situation ready to get their hands dirty. The perfect person to join our team would be personable, able to manage time as well as long days, collaborative, and flexible enough to jump in wherever is needed. This position would have responsibilities across departments which may include culinary/kitchen, housekeeping, guest services, gardens, and building and grounds.
Facilities and Maintenance
Ultima Thule Lodge is a completely self-sustaining outpost in the middle of the largest National Park in North America. It is up to our tremendous crew to keep all the facilities for this luxury guest property up and running beyond the reach of the nearest road or utility company. Our crew are individuals with unique skill sets who quickly become a tight-knit team, ensuring that our guest's expectations are always exceeded when they come to Ultima Thule.
The area of facilities management here is broad and encompasses everything from complex water and electrical systems to basic upkeep. We are looking for the right person to join our team who will bring their own necessary skill set and dig into learning from ours.
This is a job that enables a certain type of lifestyle. One deeply rooted in wild places. It is for people who like to connect fully with their small community while working together for a common goal.
The right person will possess an array of basic to advanced knowledge and experience working with small motors, engineering, carpentry, home systems, repairs, and most importantly a genuine desire and ability to figure out whatever needs figuring.
This job starts at entry level where your skills will be evaluated and you will spend a season working under direct management from our seasoned crew. The goal of this position will be retention for long-term seasonal employment moving up to the role of overseer manager as time progresses.
Lodge Crew
We are looking for people to join our crew who are masters of all things adventure lodge. The lodge is a busy place and we are a small, tight-knit team. We love to hire folks who are dependable and have great personalities to go into any situation ready to get their hands dirty. The perfect person to join our team would be personable, able to manage time as well as long days, collaborate and flexible enough to jump in wherever is needed. Most of our positions have responsibilities across departments, but we may hire the right person to focus on a single area depending on skills and experience. Departments include culinary/kitchen, housekeeping, guest services, and building and grounds.
Kitchen Crew
Here at Ultima Thule Lodge, we take food seriously and lodge life revolves around the kitchen. We have several vegetable gardens and a huge greenhouse that provides the majority of the fresh vegetables that we use on a daily basis. Our work environment is unlike that of most commercial/corporate style kitchens as we are off the grid and road system. There are no stores
close by so all of our ingredients are either sourced from the natural environment around the lodge or it must be flown in from hundreds of miles away where the nearest store is located. The kitchen crew is responsible for preparation and execution of all guest and staff meals as well as a diverse set of food production activities based on the ideas of the head chef. We have a small crew in the kitchen and everyone shares responsibilities such as cleaning up, mopping floors, and washing dishes. The ideal candidate would be someone who has superior attention to detail, doesn’t mind taking direction, and takes pride in their work.
