Camp Androscoggin

Nothing compares to a summer at camp in Maine.

Androscoggin is the summer home of 250 boys and 100 staff. Located in central Maine, campers and counselors have been sharing a summer to remember on our lakeside campus since 1907.

We are located in Wayne, Maine, a small town 20 miles west of Augusta, the state capital. Our campus covers over 125 acres on the shores of Lake Androscoggin.

About Camp Androscoggin

Our campers are with us for one 7 week session and participate in a wide range of team sports and individual activities on the land and water. Each counselor is a cabin counselor and acticity specialist.

With all campers and counselors living and playing on one campus, Androscoggin is a close-knit community in which everyone gets to know everyone else in a surprisingly short period of time. Starting with a 10 day orientation to help ensure staff feel acclimated and prepared for the boys' arrival.

We feel that the chance to be outside, work with children and spend the summer with peole from around the country and the world is rewarding, impactful and so much fun,and we can't wait to make it happen again.

We hope you'd like to be a part of it and would look forward to hearing from you.

The Employee Experience

Every summer, we strive to create an environment in which every camper can improve their skills, gain an increased sense of independence and self-esteem and form strong and lasting friendships. Camp offers a setting where campers can learn and grow and have a great time in the process.

We also believe it offers staff members a unique opportunity to teach an activity they love, be mentors and role models and make a lasting impat, all while gaining valuable leadership and communications skills.

Ideal Candidate

In addition to being an activity specialist, each counselor has responsibility for a bunk with 5 or 6 boys. Our male staff live in the cabins with the boys, and our female staff are assigned to help supervise a bunk. The bunk is everyone's home away from home for the summer, and the rapport a camper develops with his bunk counselors is one of the key ingredients in the success of the summer - for both camper and staff.
