Adventure Programming

Join our adventure and make the wilderness your office!

We are a locally-owned therapeutic program specializing in therapeutic expeditions and adventures for teen and adult clients struggling with difficult challenges and life circumstances. Come join our staff to help effect change and explore adventure by climbing, rappelling, fly fishing, paddle boarding, low ropes initiatives, and mountain biking.

Elements Program is based out of Huntington, UT. We operate in the San Rafael Swell during winter months and the Manti-La Sal Plateau during the summer months. Most employees will live in either Salt Lake City or Moab.

About Elements Program

Elements Program is a locally-owned and operated therapeutic program specializing in therapeutic expeditions for teen and adult clients struggling with difficult challenges and life circumstances. We operate in the scenic San Rafael Swell (fall, winter, and spring seasons) as well as along the Wasatch Plateau (summer months). Elements is a backpacking program with adventure activities like rock climbing, rappelling, mountain biking, SUPing, fly-fishing, etc. facilitated every 1-2 weeks.

Since 2008, we've been serving 13-17 year old adolescents (assigned male at birth) and adults of all genders. We pride ourselves on having the most clinically sophisticated treatment team which consists of our licensed therapists as well as our Field Mentors. We utilized evidence-based treatment modalities that give our clients a language and skills that are transferrable to life after Elements.

The Employee Experience

Elements provides a supportive and nurturing work environment with the opportunity to develop and grow your confidence and skill set. We value our employees and provide the training and resources they need to succeed in their present (and future) careers. Our workplace culture values assertive communication and giving (and receiving) feedback. This is a workplace rich with learning and you will grow both professionally as well as personally.

Our goal is to be one of the best employers you ever work for.

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for outdoorsy people that love working with youth and enjoy spending most of your time outdoors! You will thrive in this position if you have a strong desire to learn and grow and become part of the team to make a positive impact with the youth/young adults in our program.

Room and Board

We offer temporary housing in Huntington for your first three off-shifts as well as lodging and kitchen in Huntington available the night before and the night after every one of your shifts.

Employee Perks

We look at providing the most for our Field Staff so they are able to give the support needed for the youth/young adults in our program.

  • Easy to manage work/life balance with around 150 days off a year!
  • Great team culture
  • Adventure activities - climbing, rappelling, fly fishing, stand-up paddle boarding, low ropes initiatives, and mountain biking.
  • Provide a gear lending library for training as well as first 3 rotations for you to gather the necessary gear.
  • Pro-Deals with multiple outdoor gear and apparel companies
  • 16 days of Paid Time Off each year
  • First Aid/CPR and/or WFR training Paid by Elements

Getting Here and Getting Around

Our base is in Huntington, UT approximately 2 hours northwest of Moab and 2 hours south of Salt Lake City. Staff can live ANYWHERE! Commuting only twice in an 8-day period allows for lots of flexibility in your location. Housing is provided the day before and the day after rotation for ease of travel. Lots of our staff carpool!

For Fun

Elements employees live all over the state of Utah. We enjoy four truly distinct seasons (hot summers, cool falls, snowy winters, and green verdant springs). Utah is an outdoor adventurer's dream! There is literally no limit to the areas you can explore from the red rock canyons of southern Utah to the rivers that run through our national parks, to the snow-capped mountains of the Wasatch, and the otherworldly landscapes of the Great Salt Lake. We also have lively cosmopolitan cities which offer great restaurants, fun nightlife, theater, live music, and much more. The magic of Utah is that you can have the best of everything: easy access to the outdoors with the amenities of a bigger city.
