    Company Overview:

    Forests, Tides & Treasures (FTT) provides a unique selection of outdoor gear, apparel, art, Alaskan artisans, gifts, souvenirs, and more year-round in the beautiful remote town of Seward, Alaska. We opened our pet-friendly brick-and-mortar store in the Fall of 2017 and have developed a thriving online store and social media presence by focusing on creating an experience of discovery that forges connections between our customers and the artisans & vendors we carry. These connections are reflections of all that we have grown to love and treasure while living here in Seward and Alaska. We are very connected to our community, working with different local non-profits and supporting a wide variety of initiatives close to our hearts.     Position Overview:

    We are looking for a Social Media Specialist with a keen eye to the future of social media marketing who dreams of experiencing Seward, Alaska, firsthand. Must have a solid background in content creation and distribution that is able to support digital marketing strategies across all channels, including social media, video/Reels, email automation, and more, resulting in enhanced brand awareness and reach among all key target audiences.

    Responsibilities:

    • Increase brand visibility, engagement, and membership across all active FTT channels and eCommerce through the development and execution of all Digital & Social Media Content.
    • Create original content that aligns with FTT brand standards, event calendars, content calendars, or in response to communication needs as they arise.
    • Schedule, publish, and share content and blogs across all social media, websites, and email channels.  
    • Provide final copy editing for all marketing materials
    • Track digital and social media traffic, trends, and patterns and identify opportunities for improvement based on analysis of these metrics.
    • Learn and actively share details about the characteristics and origin of the FTT retail merchandise.
    • Full understanding and ability to operate the retail point-of-sale system, assisting retail staff during high volume periods, lunch breaks, or staffing shortages.
    • Assist with opening or closing procedures when needed.
    • Maintains a professional appearance and always adheres to the Company dress code.
    • May be required to work overtime, nights, and/or weekends.
    • Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • • Completed or pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Media Communications, Social Media Management, Digital Media, related field, or equivalent experience within the fields.
    • • Strong competency in copywriting, punctuation, and grammar skills.
    • • Strong competency in Microsoft Office suites, graphics programs, photoshop apps, and video editing programs.
    • • Abe to assess and utilize marketing analytics provided by Meta and Google Analytics.
    • • Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and marketing calendars
    • • Personally active on social media, including FB, Instagram, and TikTok.
    • • Solid work ethic, willingness to learn, and openness to feedback.

    Position Overview:

    We are looking for a friendly, communicative, and customer service-oriented Retail Associate who can help us create memorable experiences and share our love of Alaska with Locals and Visitors. In this position, you will be an essential part of our Retail Team, interacting with our Guests and contributing to the overall success of our Store.

    Responsibilities:

    • Able to work with all types of Guests and provide courteous, friendly, and efficient guest service.
    • Maintain consistent customer service standards and Company branding.
    • Work with the Team to ensure that all products are accurately priced and stocked to the correct levels and that merchandising is always dynamic and appealing.
    • Learn and actively share details about the characteristics and origin of the merchandise.
    • Wrap and Prepare merchandise purchased for mailing on request.
    • Assist with all opening or closing procedures.
    • Assume all responsibility for gift shop bank/till.
    • Keep the Store neat, orderly, and safe.
    • Full understanding of the point-of-sale system
    • Maintains a professional appearance and always adheres to the Company dress code.
    • May be required to work overtime, nights, and/or weekends.
    • Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Six months of retail store or cash handling experience.
    • Excellent verbal/written communication and organizational skills, along with basic computer skills.
    • Understand the importance of Customer Service
    • Self-motivated and works independently with minimal supervision
    • Typical working conditions involve standing for extended periods of time. Lifting 30 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
    • Must be comfortable using a 6ft ladder.
    • Must have flexible work hours, day, night, and/or weekends, while always being punctual and on time to work.
    • Solid work ethic, willingness to learn, and openness to feedback.
    • Must successfully pass a background check.

    Position Overview:

    We are looking for a friendly, communicative, and customer service-oriented Retail Warehouse Sales Associate who can help us create memorable experiences for our Guests by keeping our store stocked and looking great while providing great customer service as needed.  In this position, you will play a pivotal role in working with our Retail Team, interacting with our Guests, and contributing to the overall success of our Store.

    Responsibilities:

    • Help our Guests find exactly what they need when they need it by keeping the store stocked, merchandised, and priced correctly.
    • Partner with the Retail Sales Floor Manager to maintain a visually appealing, dynamic, clean, and safe retail environment.
    • Work with the Retail Warehouse Manager to maintain a safe, clean, and organized Receiving & Warehouse area.
    • Receive, Process, Replenish, and Merchandise all inventory.
    • Maintain consistent customer service standards and follow Company branding standards.
    • Assist on the Sales floor as needed and maintain a full understanding of the point of sale system. Able to work with all types of Guests and provide courteous, friendly, and efficient guest service.
    • Learn and actively share details about the characteristics and origin of merchandise with Guests.
    • Fulfill all Web Orders daily while communicating with the Guests and Team as required.
    • Manage all shipping responsibilities efficiently, effectively, and in a timely manner. Drop-off and pick-up shipments at local USPS locations.
    • Assist with all opening or closing procedures as needed.
    • Assist in keeping the Store neat, orderly, and safe at all times.
    • Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
    • Maintain a professional appearance and always adhere to the Company dress code.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • One year working in a retail inventory or merchandising position.
    • Excellent verbal/written communication, computer, and organizational skills 
    • Sound understanding of mathematics and strong reading comprehension skills.
    • Understand the importance of Customer Service.
    • Solid work ethic, willingness to learn, and openness to feedback.
    • Ability to analyze sales reports and strategically problem-solve 
    • Self-motivated and works independently with minimal supervision
    • Able to work in typical working conditions that require standing for extended periods of time, lifting 50 pounds maximum, frequently carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds throughout the store, and going up and down ladders of up to 8ft in height.
    • Ability to follow and implement FTT policies, procedures, and safety policies.
    • Must have flexible work hours, day, night, and/or weekends, and be punctual. May be required to work overtime, nights, and/or weekends.
    • Must successfully pass a background check and have a valid Driver’s license.

    Travel Requirements:

    Retail Warehouse Manager -required: has recently worked at least two years in an Inventory/Warehouse Supervisory or Management position for a retail business with at least $450k in annual revenue.

Our goal is to create an experience of discovery that forges a connection between our guests and the artisans and vendors found within our store. These connections are reflections of all that we have grown to love and treasure while living here in Alaska and Seward in particular.

    Position Overview:

    We’re looking for a friendly, communicative, and customer service-oriented Warehouse Sales Manager who can keep our store stocked and looking great so that we can create memorable experiences for our Guests. In this position, you will play a key role in helping manage our Retail Team, interacting with our Guests, and contributing to the FTT's overall success.

    Responsibilities:

    • Help our Guests find exactly what they need right when they need it by keeping the store stocked, merchandised, and priced correctly.
    • Partner with the Retail Sales Manager to maintain a visually appealing, dynamic, clean, and safe environment for staff and guests.
    • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized Store & Off-site warehouses.
    • Oversee and ensure all Receiving, Inventory processing, Replenishment, and Merchandise presentation are executed completely and correctly on a daily basis.
    • Partner with the Retail Team to direct and prioritize the daily activities of the Team as needed.
    • Ensure low-stock, out-of-stock & dead-stock positions are proactively managed through visual and report assessments. 
    • Manage and monitor all shipping of in-store purchases and web orders while ensuring timely communications with Guests, Vendors, and third-party shippers. 
    • Order and maintain seasonally appropriate supplies for all Store departments.
    • Open/Close the Store and carry out Supervisory responsibilities as needed, including training, planning, assigning, and directing work; participate in evaluating staff performance; address complaints and resolve problems.
    • Maintain a professional appearance and always adhere to the Company dress code.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Some College or equivalent experience
    • 2 years in a retail inventory supervisory or management position working for a retail business with at least $450k in annual sales in the last two years.
    • Experience in managing and training a Team of at least 4 staff.
    • Excellent verbal/written communication, computer, and organizational skills 
    • Sound understanding of mathematics and strong reading comprehension skills.
    • Self-motivated and works independently with minimal supervision.
    • Solid work ethic, willingness to learn, and openness to feedback.
    • Ability to analyze sales reports and strategically problem-solve. 
    • Able to work in typical retail conditions that require standing for extended periods of time, lifting 50 pounds maximum, frequently carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds throughout the store, and going up and down ladders of up to 8ft in height.
