Here at Jay we’re a good-natured team at the heart and soul of the most exciting resort in the industry.
Jay Peak is a four season resort in Northern Vermont, close to Canada and Burlington, and far from anything resembling ordinary.
About Jay Peak Resort
This is where we’re supposed to give you a quick introduction about working at Jay Peak. Except there’s nothing quick about what your experiences will be or what our expectations are. In summary, we will expect you to work hard, to help fellow teammates, to service the guests, and to have fun. In return, we will pay you fairly, let you know (and more importantly make you feel) that you are valued, and, if you’re so inclined, work with you to help create a career.
We take the notion of turning jobs into careers very seriously. Working full-time in the snowsports resort business can be the holy grail for some. We want those folks here and we’ll work with you to get you where you want to be. It’s not for everyone but we’re not looking for everyone-we’re looking for you.

Ideal Candidate
Many people will succeed at Jay, but those who will get the most out of the experience are those who want to take advantage of all that Jay has to offer in your off time. Want to learn how to ski? Awesome, come take free lessons and ski your days away. Want to learn to skate and play pick-up hockey? The skating rink is open year-round and also offers free rentals and rink access. Want to take a break from the cold and get nice and toasty? The indoor waterpark is right in your backyard.
Room and Board
Housing is offered on a limited basis. The best way to secure on-property housing is to apply for the position you want and then follow up directly with your hiring manager during the interview process. Positions in Mountain Operations are the most likely to offer housing, so if you're considering a job in snow-making or lift ops, we would love to hear from you! Of course, you are welcome to inquire about housing no matter what position you apply for.
Housing is available to full time employees only. There are two types of housing available. Dorm style and condos. Rates are generally $350-$450 depending on the unit. All bedrooms are shared. Most folks will cook using the kitchens available, but employees are also eligible for 50% off at cafeterias throughout the resort and 25% off at all other on-site restaurants.

One of the unique things about Jay is that while we are primarily a ski area, we are also a four season resort so depending on what is open, employees have access to all kinds of activities and events. The indoor waterpark is right on site and open year-round. We have concerts, competitions, and festivals all year and as an employee, you'll get steep discounts on entry to those. If you stick around for the summer, you'll get free access to golf, and frisbee golf. You can use your employee discount at stores and restaurants around the resort, and we have a number of partnerships with local and national companies, offering everything from a discount on gas at the local general store, to 50% off online outdoor clothing retailers.
Getting Here and Getting Around
Transportation to/from Jay via shuttle service is available and can be arranged in advance. The closest airport is in Burlington, VT, however, Montreal is also only 1.5 hours away. If you live in on-site housing, there is a shuttle service that circulates throughout the resort and makes trips into the nearest town(Newport) twice a week. We are very much a rural community, so Uber and Lyft are not available. If you have a car, there is plenty of parking available at the housing units.
For Fun
The Jay Way starts before you even get to the mountain and continues long after you’ve left. It’s a road that runs through the communities we reside in here in the most special corner of New England. Go poke around Montgomery, Jay, Troy, Newport, Westfield, and the other small towns that make us who we are and make the Jay Way what it is.
While it's impossible to list all of the reasons why those of us who live here choose to call this lovely little corner of Vermont home, if we had to summarize, a lot of us would say that we love the peace and quiet that comes from being tucked away in the mountains. We love the rhythm of watching the seasons come and go surrounded by nature, whether that's waiting for the first snow to cover the last of fall's wildflowers, sipping on hot cocoa with new friends around a wood fire after a powder day, or watching the rivers swell in the spring as the snow begins to melt and we all start dreaming of lazy days at the lake and endless maple creemees.
For the socially inclined, there is always something going on around Jay, but there is also the opportunity to just exist in nature, to channel your inner Thoreau, there is space to just be. Jay has something to offer everyone, and we love sharing our little slice of the world.
