The Sitka Sound Science Center is a nonprofit whose mission is science research and science education about the ecosystems of coastal Alaska. Our work is driven by our community and we take pride in a culture of curiosity, integrity, respect, and fun.

Nestled between mountains and ocean, Sitka represents the best of what Southeast Alaska has to offer. This island paradise has something for everyone: easy access to trails, the lush ecosystem of the Tongass National Forest, endless ocean adventures, and a charming small town with a vibrant, close-knit community.
