Hospitality Specialist
Tanaku Lodge is looking for dynamic individual to work as a team with the kitchen and other Guest Service employees. Responsibilities include but not limited too, servicing guest rooms and common areas. Assisting our chef in the kitchen with lite meal prep. Serving at mealtime. Registering guests on arrival. Working in the Tanaku Lodge gift shop. Welcoming Tanaku Lodge guests and making them feel at home and assisting them during their stay. Customer service experience encouraged but not required.

Deckhand / First Mate
Tanaku Lodge is looking for dynamic people for our sport-fishing Deckhand/First Mate positions.
Your job as a deckhand is to get the boat ready to fish each morning. i.e. Bait, Ice, Gear, tackle. You will help guests with all their fishing needs including baiting hooks and netting, gaffing and releasing fish as they come to the boat. You will also be keeping the boat clean during your day. Conversing with guests and helping them with fishing techniques ensures they have a fantastic time. Some of our guests have been clients for many years so they quickly become your old friends.
Once the boat returns to the dock you will clean it thoroughly and then you will help process fish in the fish room.
Each deckhand will be working on a boat with a licensed captain. Working together to provide the ultimate fishing experience that the "Tanaku Difference" is known for.
As our season 31/2 months your weekly schedule typically consists of 5 days fishing and 2 days maintenance but this can vary as business levels dictate. Crew fishing days occur during maintenance days. Deckhands will also help with chores around the lodge.
Captain / Fishing Guide
Tanaku Lodge is looking for dynamic people for our sport-fishing boat captain positions.
Our captains are assigned a boat from our fleet that they typically use for the duration of the season but it can vary. Your job as a captain is to ensure your clients catch fish and have an entertaining time doing it. Conversing with guests and helping them with fishing techniques ensures they have a fantastic time. Some of our guests have been clients for many years so they quickly become your old friends.
Learning the area and where to fish when and for which species is covered in our pre-season training. Typically our boats fish for 2-3 species in a day. (salmon, halibut and different types of rock fish and lingcod )
You will be expected to learn all the area fishing regulations.
Our Captains are the leaders in processing fish in our fish room after you return to the dock.
You will need to be able to preform basic maintenance on your boat each week.
You will also be training your deckhand and ensuring our clients needs are met. Working together to provide the ultimate fishing experience that the "Tanaku Difference" is known for.
As our season is a short 3 1/2 months and our typical week consists of 5 days fishing and 2 days maintenance but this can vary as business levels dictate. Crew fishing occurs during maintenance days.
Requirement: Must have a Near Coastal 6-Pack License or Near Coastal Masters.
Knowledge of fishing for Halibut and Salmon is preferred but not required.
