We are a family owned and operated sport-fishing lodge in Elfin Cove, Alaska. Tanaku Lodge, Alaska’s best sport fishing lodge! Our Southeast Alaska location is well-known for its extraordinary fishing action and our Alaska lodge is renowned for its superb guest services, four-star cuisine, excellent guiding staff, and down-home hospitality!
Tanaku Lodge is located in Elfin Cove, AK which is a small fishing community located on Chichagof Island. At the entrance to the inside passage we enjoy an abundance of wildlife and excellent fishing.

We are a full-service sport-fishing lodge and we rely on our staff to help create a once-in-a-lifetime trip for our clients. Whether it's their first time or they have been with us for 30 years we work to create an entertaining and special experience that exceeds their expectations.
Our clients spend their days out on our boats, fishing. When not on the water they are enjoying our gourmet meals and socializing. Our staff eats with our clients which gives you and them the opportunity to get to know each other in a relaxed environment. We also have staff living areas where you can get away and recharge.

The Employee Experience
The Employee Experience is one we have cultivated for 30 years. When we are not taking care of clients we try and encourage our employees to take advantage of what our location has to offer. We have numerous hiking opportunities, bonfires, and crew fishing days. We host a yearly 3 v 3 basketball tournament for the community of Elfin Cove. Tanaku Christmas is also a tradition we cherish with Christmas dinner and a gift exchange.
The Tanaku Work environment is a fun one. We are all there for a short season so we work hard to make the most of it. We continually hear from our past employees that Tanaku changed their life. Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for Tanaku Lodge is someone who enjoys people and the guest service industry. Our work and living environment is very dynamic and being flexible is extremely important. Working in a bush community has its challenges but also can be exciting. Problem-solving is always fun in a place so far from a big city. Being a team player is also important. We are looking for self-motivated people who are reliable and efficient in the daily tasks needed for each position. Learning new things and working together as a team are some of the things that make us a rewarding place to work.

Room and Board
We have two bunk houses for the Tanaku Staff. There is no charge for room and board at Tanaku Lodge. Some rooms are shared and most are private. Bathrooms are all shared. Our staff eats their meals with our clients. We have one common room with satellite TV for our staff. Wifi is available and cell service is available depending on your carrier.
Employee Perks
Employee perks at Tanaku Lodge consist of Tanaku gear to use during your season. We also give an employee discount in our gift shop. Tanaku Lodge celebrates employee Tanaku Christmas in July which is a great opportunity for creating our family atmosphere. Crew fishing, sunset cruises and evening bonfires are some of the ways we enjoy our down time in-between groups.
Getting Here and Getting Around
Tanaku Lodge is located in a remote fishing village in southeast Alaska. Our staff arrives by commercial airlines to Juneau Alaska then depending on our schedule travels to the lodge by boat or float plane. Elfin Cove has no roads or cars. Our boardwalk through "town" is a state highway. We arrange and pay for our staff to travel to and from Tanaku Lodge.
For Fun
The area around Tanaku Lodge is filled with wildlife. Eagles spend the early summer fishing in and around Elfin Cove. Humpback and Orca whales are abundant in the waters our boats fish. Seeing bears on the beaches around and outside of Elfin Cove is very common. If you are an avid photographer there is never a shortage of sights and wildlife to see and photograph.
Sightseeing the beautiful landscape is a daily occurrence in the work days at Tanaku Lodge. You can also spend your free time just taking in the great outdoors hiking, sunset cruises and beach bonfires. We also get our crew out fishing for fun bonding time. In August the Northern lights start to make their appearances and the stars are bright and plentiful.
We are in a very remote area but we make the most of all it has to offer.
