The Employee Experience
Under Canvas Mount Rushmore’s season runs from May through September each year. Team member housing is located in Keystone or Rapid City, SD. Each housing unit has roommates, fully furnished rooms, laundry, WiFi and a fully equipped kitchen. Tucked away under Ponderosa pines, Under Canvas Mount Rushmore features unobstructed views of the national monument from an expansive deck off the lobby tent. Enjoy Under Canvas’ own hiking trail that starts on property and weaves through the forested hillside and property.

Under Canvas Mount Rushmore is just outside of Keystone, SD in the Black Hills and is only 30 minutes from Rapid City, SD. There is plenty to explore in the surrounding area including hiking, water sports, and other outdoor recreation activities around Mount Rushmore National Monument, Custer State Park and Badlands National Park. The climate in the Black Hills of South Dakota is mostly mild with the occasional afternoon rain shower. Days are typically sunny and warm while temperatures cool at night due to the higher elevation of this camp location.
