- Ensures all National Park Service (NPS)-required National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) compliance is planned and executed with Xanterra: Glacier National Park Lodges Engineering Administration and Project Management in accordance with company Standards.
- Possess working knowledge of the Secretary of the Interior Standards for Treatment of Historic Properties.
- EPA RRP Certification, ability to obtain DOT license.
- Plan, deliver, and document Historic Preservation training and ensure it is delivered to Parkwide Engineering and Maintenance Management personnel. Training will include a combination of annual historic preservation maintenance in classroom and hands-on. Responsible for the continuous training, development, enhancement and implementation of historic maintenance procedures with all seasonal location maintenance teams.
- Ability to effectively manage the Parkwide Carpenters directly, including routine communication with Engineering Admin team for assistance or collaboration with other Parkwide Engineering staff. Must also diligently upkeep Historic Preservation Team calendar/schedule/deadlines.
- Conduct Haz Mat surveys and mitigate removal of materials including but not limited to asbestos, lead paint, mold and animal roosting/nesting/excrement pre-project.
- Appropriately represent the company through high levels of professionalism, adhering to policy and procedure, supporting performance management with staff, and supporting the operational goals of the park.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Historic Preservation and 2 years of hands-on preservation maintenance experience, including knowledge of historic structures and materials.
- 5 years professional managerial and supervisory level experience.
- Post Secondary Preferred, Certification in EPA RRP & Documented NPS Preservation Workshops
- Indoor and Outdoor in Glacier National Park, varying terrain/state of repair.
- Project scoping, Project Completion and Documentation. Parkwide Carpenter Crew supervision, Maintenance Management Supervision.
- Must be able to walk distances over uneven terrain, climb stairs and ladders in all types of weather conditions.
- Must be able to lift and carry a maximum of 51 pounds.
- Frequent lifting and carrying of supplies, materials, and equipment throughout the day.
- Must be able to bend, stretch, reach, kneel, and crawl for extended periods of time.
- Working safely with required chemicals, tools, and equipment.

Job Summary:
Deliver the focused administrative needs, careful technical skills, enthusiastic crew training and demanding physical requirements necessary for successful and collaborative completion of Historic Preservation Projects across Glacier National Park’s many Historic structures.
The Details:
Position Type: Year-Round, Full-Time with an 8-week furlough period generally from mid-December to mid-February.
Start Date: Mid-February 2025
Pay: $2,380 bi-weekly (subject to change for 2025)
Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)
Housing: Employee housing is not available
